Dancers accused of luring resident to door just before Providence home invasion and shooting


PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island — Four people, including two exotic dancers, have been arrested after a home invasion and shooting in Providence.

Police tell the Providence Journal ( ) the dancers, 22-year-old Vypatda Sophan and 22-year-old Vanessa Potter, lured a resident to the door of a home on Forsyth Street last Friday just before three gunman forced their way in.

Police say 18-year-old Kyana Williams and her father 55-year-old Kevin Edwards were tied up and shot. Their injuries were not life threatening.

The same house was hit by gunfire Wednesday night. Police say that shooting and the home invasion are related.

Police on Wednesday charged 20-year-old Miguel Pere and 23-year-old Tommy Bun in connection with both incidents and were looking for a third suspect, 22-year-old Orlando Luciano.

Police have not said why the victims' were targeted.
