ARNOLD, Maryland — Two people have died in a car accident in Arnold, a suburb of Annapolis.

Anne Arundel County police say the accident happened about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday on Ritchie Highway. Officers say a car driven by 32-year-old Manuel Valencia of Arnold made a left turn toward College Parkway.

Authorities say Valencia drove into the path of a truck driven by 56-year-old Charles Nossick of Severna Park. Police say the collision caused the car to overturn and hit a traffic signal pole.

Officials say Valencia was pronounced dead at the scene and Nossick died at Shock Trauma in Baltimore.

The crash is under investigation.

This was the second serious crash in Arnold in less than 24 hours. A 25-year-old Annapolis man was critically injured in a single-car crash early Tuesday.
