SEOUL, South Korea — Western Sydney Wanderers held FC Seoul to a 0-0 draw Wednesday in the first leg of the Asian Champions League semifinals.

Seoul, the 2013 runner-up, had the better of the opportunities but struggled to find a way through the Australian backline.

Sergio Escudero went closest, wasting a one-on-one chance in the first half. The South Korean team then came close to snatching a late goal but failed to convert.

The second leg is scheduled for Oct. 1 in Sydney.

In the other semifinal, Saudi club Al Hilal beat Al Ain of the United Arab Emirates 3-0 Tuesday in the first leg.
