Summit County man pleads not guilty in 1994 slaying of Boulder city employee

BOULDER, Colo. — A Summit County man has pleaded not guilty to killing an employee of the city of Boulder in 1994.

The Daily Camera reports (http://bit.ly/IeeINA ) 36-year-old Michael Clark pleaded not guilty Friday to first-degree murder in the death of Marty Grisham, who was Boulder's director of information services.

Clark was friends with Grisham's daughter.

Grisham was fatally shot when he answered a knock at the door on Nov. 1, 1994. At the time, Clark pleaded guilty to theft and forgery for stealing and using checks belonging to Grisham but said he wasn't involved with Clark's death.

Clark was arrested last January after police reopened the investigation.

He is free on a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to go on trial Oct. 8.
