SACRAMENTO, California — The California Republican Party has found a replacement for its keynote address at the party's upcoming convention in Anaheim after presidential hopeful Scott Walker pulled out to focus on early primary states.
The Wisconsin governor was to headline the convention this Saturday, but just a week before the address his campaign cited scheduling changes in canceling Walker's appearance.
Party Chairman Jim Brulte announced Monday that former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton will address the GOP banquet gathering instead.
In an email, Brulte thanked Bolton for agreeing to come "on such short notice."
Walker has been trying to get his campaign back on track after a lackluster performance in the first GOP debate.
