Tupelo Regional Airport will get half a million dollars from city to build new taxiway


TUPELO, Mississippi — The Tupelo Regional Airport will get half a million dollars from the city to build a new taxiway.

The Tupelo City Council on Tuesday agreed to match a grant for $500,000 which the Mississippi Department of Transportation will provide if the airport is selected.

WTVA TV reports ( ) the city will supply the funds if the airport receives the grant from MDOT.

Airport officials hope the new runway will attract new tenants.
