DENVER — Police believe speed and alcohol were factors in a rollover crash that killed three men and seriously injured two others in Denver.

The accident occurred about 9:30 p.m. Sunday. The sedan apparently ran a red light and hit a tree in southwest Denver.

The Denver medical examiner's office identified the driver as 20-year-old Brian Eli Alvarez and the front seat passenger as 18-year-old Bryan Moreno.

Police say Alvarez and Moreno were pronounced dead at the scene. A third passenger, 20-year-old Nicasio Flores, died after being taken to the hospital. Officials ruled their deaths accidental.

The two other occupants remain hospitalized in critical condition.

Sgt. Mike Farr says it does not appear the men were wearing seatbelts.
