Ellenboro woman who operated home health care business pleads guilty to $100K fraud

CLARKSBURG, West Virginia — A woman who operated a home health care business has pleaded guilty to fraud in federal court in Clarksburg.

U.S. Attorney William Ihlenfeld says 50-year-old Sherri J. Slaven of Ellenboro faces up to 10 years in prison. She pleaded guilty to health care fraud Monday.

Slaven was convicted of defrauding the West Virginia Offices of the Insurance Commission Workers' Compensation Old Fund by submitting more than $100,000 in claims for health care services that she never performed.
