BURLINGTON, Vermont — The Burlington School Board is introducing the school district's new interim superintendent.

A press conference will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Monday at the Hunt Middle School to welcome and hear from Howard Smith.

Smith is the former superintendent in Tarrytown and Canton, New York.

He is succeeding Stephanie Philips, who was appointed in July. That followed the resignation of Superintendent Jeanne Collins after a report showed her office had been making budget errors.

The school district is still looking for a permanent superintendent.
