Woman fatally shot at house where fire erupted, Omaha police say; no arrests reported

OMAHA, Nebraska — Police say a woman was fatally shot at an Omaha house where a fire erupted.

Officers and firefighters were sent to the house in northeast Omaha a little after 8:30 p.m. Thursday. The wounded woman was pronounced dead at the scene. She was identified as 23-year-old Deprecia Neelon.

Homicide investigators are trying to determine whether the shooting and the fire are directly related. No arrests have been reported.
