FLORIDA ASSURES IT WILL OFFER KOSHER MEALS IN ALL PRISONS

Corrections official testified that Florida is moving ahead with a plan to offer kosher meals in all state prisons by the end of the year. The hearing was on a U.S. Justice Department lawsuit demanding such a program.

LAWSUIT CLAIMS PROSTITUTES BEAT NJ WOMAN IN MIAMI HOTEL

A southern New Jersey woman is suing over claims that a group of prostitutes attacked her in the lobby of South Beach's W Hotel in January. Police say the prostitutes likely mistook her as someone encroaching on their territory.

JUDGE DENIES EFFORT TO BLOCK GAMING BAN

The federal judge denied the attempt by operators of two Broward County arcades that sought to block enforcement of part of new law banning simulated slot machines or other casino-style games.

5 MARTIN COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS CHARGED WITH SELLING GUNS ON CAMPUS

A sheriff's office report says the guns had been stolen by one of the teens from a home. The students attended Community Christian Academy in Stuart.
