South Dakota woman on trial for murder for allegedly killing 4-year-old boy who wet his pants

CHAMBERLAIN, South Dakota — A woman is on trial in Chamberlain for allegedly beating to death a 4-year-old boy because he wet his pants.

Twenty-three- year-old Donika Gonzales of Gann Valley has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder and alternate charges in the February 2013 death of Mason Naser.

The Daily Republic newspaper reports (http://bit.ly/1isrmpG ) that jurors on Monday were played a recording in which Gonzales allegedly admitted to a state crime bureau agent that she had abused her boyfriend's son after becoming angry with the boy.

The trial is expected to last through the week.
