THIBODAUX, Louisiana — A Lafourche Parish judge has ruled that a Thibodaux man is fit to stand trial on a charge he decapitated his 7-year-old son.
The Courier reports (http://bit.ly/1iBT19V ) that Judge John LeBlanc ruled Friday following a third competency hearing earlier this month for Jeremiah Wright.
Wright faces a first-degree murder charge in the August 2011 death of his son, Jori Lirette.
A date for his trial hasn't been set yet.
Lirette's severed head was found in the driveway of the home Wright shared with the boy's mother. His other body parts were found in nearby trash bags.
