MADISON, Wisconsin — A Wisconsin historical site will offer history lovers a chance to prepare a 19th-century meal next month.
Wade House in has scheduled a so-called Hearthside Dinner for Jan. 25. Visitors will help prepare an 1860s-era meal using a stove and a fireplace. After participants eat they'll have to pitch in to clear the table, wash the dishes and sweep the hearth.
Tickets are $45 per person. Participation is limited to 20 people. Wade House will offer similar meals in February, March and April.
Wade House is an 1860s stagecoach inn located in Greenbush in Sheboygan County.
