Huge third quarter propels Prairie View to a 51-23 win over Ark-Pine Bluff

PINE BLUFF, Arkansas — Jerry Lovelocke threw for 355 yards, rushed for 49 more and had five total touchdowns to lead Prairie View A&M to a 51-23 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Saturday.

Prairie View led 24-10 at halftime. Then Lovelocke threw three touchdown passes in the first 6 minutes of the third quarter. He found Johnta Hebert on back-to-back touchdown passes, of 26 and 17 yards, and had a 20-yarder to Nick Pitre.

Marvante King returned the ensuing kickoff 88 yards for an Arkansas-Pine Bluff touchdown.

Hebert had 14 carries for 122 yards, caught four passes for 39, and had three total touchdowns for Prairie View (4-5, 4-4 Southwestern Athletic). Nick Pitre caught five passes for 88 yards and two touchdowns.

Benjamin Anderson completed 15 of 32 passes for 173 yards and a touchdown, and rushed for 101 yards and another score, for Arkansas-Pine Bluff (3-6, 2-5).

Prairie View outgained Arkansas-Pine Bluff 644-313.
