STANFORD, Kentucky — A man who pleaded guilty in 2009 to participating in a double slaying in central Kentucky has died in prison.

WKYT-TV (http://bit.ly/1iA2ZXi) reports Neccolus Mundy died Monday, less than a week after being found unresponsive in his cell at Northpoint Training Center.

Mundy was serving 20 years for his role in the fatal shootings of 18-year-old Bo Upton and 20-year-old Ryan Shangraw in a Lincoln County trailer in 2002. Prosecutors said the shootings were drug-related.

State corrections officials say Mundy had been experiencing medical issues just before his death.

The coroner said there was no visible trauma to his body. Autopsy results and toxicology tests are pending.
