LEWISTON, Maine — Maine drug enforcement officials say they've arrested a Lewiston man in connection with illegal distribution of heroin.
Maine Drug Enforcement Agency Commander Scott Pelletier said 40-year-old Macarthur Taylor was arrested on Thursday at his Lewiston apartment.
Pelletier says police have been investigating illegal heroin distribution between Lewiston and the Bath area for the last year. He says agents conducted undercover heroin purchases from Taylor, including several in designated drug free zones near schools.
Pelletier says the investigation led agents to search Taylor's apartment where they seized items indicating drug trafficking.
Taylor was taken to Androscoggin County Jail where MDEA says heroin was found on him. It could not be determined if he had a lawyer.
MDEA says more it anticipates more arrests.
