BROOMFIELD, Colorado — A 14-year-old boy has pleaded guilty to first-degree assault in the stabbing of a classmate at a suburban Denver school.
The Broomfield Enterprise reports (http://goo.gl/miAmCX ) the boy entered his plea Friday and faces three to five years in the Division of Youth Corrections when he is sentenced Sept. 30.
Investigators say a 14-year-old girl was stabbed in the back near a playground at Aspen Creek K-8 school in Broomfield on April 30 and was airlifted to a hospital. Investigators haven't said what led to the stabbing.
A judge in May said the boy has a record of fighting at school and might have created a "kill list" with several names, including the name of the girl who was stabbed.
