2 killed, 3 injured as sport car collides with van on road in Sylmar area of Los Angeles


LOS ANGELES — Authorities say a crash involving a sports car and a van in the Sylmar area of Los Angeles has killed two people and injured three others.

City News Service says a Nissan 300Z was heading south on San Fernando Road around 7:30 p.m. Friday when the driver lost control and veered into oncoming traffic, hitting a Honda Odyssey.

The crash killed 19-year-old Isaiah Hastings of Lancaster and 18-year-old Alexander Manu of Los Angeles, who were in the Nissan. The driver, 18-year-old Eldridge Salguero of Los Angeles, received major injuries.

The van's driver, 44-year-old Suh Min Kyung of Castaic, and an 11-year-old passenger were treated for minor injuries.
