NEWFANE, Vermont — A second telecommunications tower has been proposed for the Vermont town of Newfane.
AT&T is developing its first tower, which is in South Newfane. It was approved by the Public Service Board in March, amid opposition from some residents who were worried about the impact on property values.
The Brattleboro Reformer reports (http://bit.ly/1cjLGXA) AT&T is now proposing a second 140-tall tower that would provide cellular coverage along Route 30 and the immediate area.
An attorney for AT&T said Route 30 has been recognized by the Vermont Telecommunications Authority as a "target corridor" for the general absence of reliable cellular and wireless-broadband Internet service.
