CAPE VINCENT, New York — The Coast Guard has rescued five people from the St. Lawrence Seaway near Cape Vincent after their boat hit a large wake and capsized.

Officials say a Coast Guard crew stationed at Alexandria Bay saw the 19-foot boat hit the wake around 9:30 Saturday night, throwing the boaters into the water. None were wearing life jackets.

The Coast Guard boat crew rescued all five people and another boater helped tow the capsized vessel to shore.

There were no reports of any injuries.
