Maine's Sugarloaf opens for regular winter operations on Thanksgiving Day

CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine — Maine's Sugarloaf is hoping skiers will make time for a few runs on Thanksgiving Day.

Sugarloaf begins full-time season operations on Thursday.

Sugarloaf opened last weekend and was open for mornings on Monday through Wednesday of this week. Thursday's schedule reflects the start of regular operations that'll continue through May.

The early bird this year was Sunday River, which opened on Oct. 19.

Most Maine resorts will be opening in December.
