Cold weather kills 37-year-old woman found on sidewalk outside of Greenwood store

GREENWOOD, South Carolina — Authorities say a 37-year-old woman found dead on the sidewalk in front of a store in Greenwood died from exposure to the cold.

Investigators said the body of Sherika Drummond was found around 3 p.m. Saturday in front of Dillon Supply. The store sells industrial supplies and isn't open on weekends.

The coroner's office says Drummond died of hypothermia, and it also ordered toxicology tests that could take six weeks to complete.

Greenwood County deputies say it didn't appear any criminal activity led to Drummond's death.
