Former UM QB sentenced in federal drug case faces more marijuana charges in Ravalli County

HAMILTON, Montana — A former University of Montana quarterback who faces a two-year prison sentence in a federal drug case related to a large medical marijuana operation he ran near Missoula now faces felony drug charges in Ravalli County over a marijuana dispensary in Hamilton.

The Ravalli County attorney's office alleges Jason Washington provided an employee with marijuana and cannabis products even though the man did not have a medical marijuana card. He faces charges of criminal distribution of dangerous drugs and accountability for criminal possession of dangerous drugs with the intent to distribute, but has not appeared in court.

In January, a federal jury convicted Washington of conspiracy to manufacture and distribute marijuana and possession with intent to distribute. He was sentenced last week.

Washington played football at Montana in 2005.
