Man killed, grandson injured in Delaware van crash

FRANKFORD, Delaware — Delaware State Police say a man was killed and his 6-year-old grandson was injured when the van he was driving left the road and hit a tree.

It happened about 11:40 a.m. Wednesday on Zion Church Road in Frankford. Troopers say 70-year-old Preston Hudson of Selbyville was driving west when his van crossed the eastbound lane, traveled off the road and hit a tree.

Police say Hudson was flown to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland, where he died.

Hudson's grandson was admitted to the hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The accident is under investigation, and troopers are trying to determine if Hudson suffered a medical emergency before the crash.
