3 people die in fiery North Carolina crash, 2 injured in Lexington after van overturns

LEXINGTON, North Carolina — North Carolina police say three people are dead and two others injured after a car overturned and burst into flames.

Lexington Police say officers were on their way to an alarm call early Sunday when they found the 4-door 2007 Chrysler Sebring ablaze. Police earlier mistakenly described the vehicle as a van.

Three people were dead at the scene before 4 a.m. They haven't been named while officials try to determine their identities and relatives are notified.

Rescue workers took 23-year-old Donchristopher Roach and 28-year-old Kim Davis to Thomasville Medical Center for treatment. The hospital didn't list either of the Lexington residents as patients Sunday afternoon.

Police say the investigation is continuing.
