ALEXANDRIA, Louisiana — Police say 17 men are facing soliciting for prostitution charges following a sting operation aimed at thwarting human trafficking and child-sex abuse.

The Town Talk reports (http://townta.lk/TE7Y2Y ) the sting was conducted over a recent two-day period by the Alexandria Police Department, the Central Louisiana Safe Streets Task Force and local FBI agents.

Alexandria Police Lt. Bruce Fairbanks would not disclose the locations of the arrests, but he said they were all in Alexandria.

Fairbanks says the suspects were booked into the Rapides Parish Jail each on one count of soliciting for prostitution.

He says three of the suspects also face drug charges.
