SAO PAULO — Brazil coach Dunga has summoned Real Madrid left back Marcelo to replace injured Alex Sandro in Brazil's friendlies against Colombia and Ecuador next month.

Alex Sandro hurt his left thigh in FC Porto's 2-0 win over Lille in a Champions League playoff last week.

Marcelo becomes the 11th player called up by Dunga who was in Luiz Felipe Scolari's squad for the World Cup in Brazil this year.

Dunga replaced Scolari after Brazil's disappointing fourth-place finish at home.

Brazil will play Colombia on Friday in Miami and Ecuador on Sept. 9 in New Jersey.
