BARCELONA, Spain — Midfielder Arda Turan scored a double to help Atletico Madrid start its defense of the Copa del Rey title by easing to a 4-0 win at third-division Sant Andreu on Saturday.
Raul Garcia volleyed in Filipe Luis' out-swinging cross in the 13th minute before Turan added two more goals.
Turan first slotted in Javier Manquillo's backpass in the 20th and scored again from a series of tightly knit passes in the 56th.
David Villa and Diego Costa went on for Atletico after resting for the first hour and Villa sealed the victory in the 84th.
Later, Real Madrid, Getafe and Levante visit lower-division opponents, while Athletic Bilbao plays at fellow topflight side Celta Vigo.
The return legs of the round of 32 will be played in two weeks.
