4 men killed in separate shootings around Philadelphia, 2 after confrontations at bars

PHILADELPHIA — Police say four men have been killed in unrelated shootings around Philadelphia over the weekend, two of them shot after early morning confrontations at bars.

Shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday, a 50-year-old man was shot and killed behind his house in the Frankford section. He was able to get inside the home but later died at a hospital.

Officers found a 21-year-old man shot on a Belmont street in west Philadelphia at about 9:40 p.m. Saturday, and he died within minutes at a local hospital.

Shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday, a 25-year-old man was shot at Johnny Ace's Bar in north Philadelphia. About a half-hour later in the Onley section, a 29-year-old man was shot to death at the Old Madrid bar. No charges were immediately filed in either case.
