Hearing delayed for suspect accused of trying to molest male OSU students in dorm room

STILLWATER, Oklahoma — A hearing for a former Oklahoma State University student charged with sexual battery has been delayed.

A preliminary hearing was set in Payne County Monday for 22-year-old Nathan Cochran. Court officials say the hearing was postponed until June 21.

The hearing will determine whether there is sufficient evidence for Cochran to be tried.

Prosecutors allege that Cochran molested or attempted to molest male students while they slept in a dorm room. Cochran has pleaded not guilty to four counts of sexual battery. Affidavits filed in the case allege that the incidents occurred in August and November.

OSU officials came under fire for not immediately reporting the alleged incidents to authorities. Local police say they didn't learn of the allegations until Dec. 6, when contacted for comment by OSU's college newspaper.
