National Weather Service says storms may bring heavy rain to parts of Oklahoma Saturday night

NORMAN, Oklahoma — Forecasters say storms that have dropped rain over much of Oklahoma could bring heavy rainfall to parts of the state Saturday night.

The National Weather Service in Norman says up to three inches of rain has already fallen in parts of southern Oklahoma and western north Texas. The area may record an additional one or two inches of rain through the evening.

A flood advisory has been issued for southern Oklahoma and north central Texas where forecasters say some areas may experience minor flooding.

Most rainfall should end by midnight Saturday, allowing for a damp, muggy and mild night. Some drizzle and fog will linger over the area. Winds will pick up on Sunday as a cold front passes over the area. Wind gusts Sunday afternoon may exceed 40 mph.
