Police say man who shot sister in leg at Salem apartment had been drinking

SALEM, Oregon — Police say a 24-year-old man shot his 18-year-old sister in the leg Wednesday night at a Salem apartment.

Police say the man had been drinking and removed the gun from his waistband to unload it when it fired.

Officers arrested Raymond Hernandez on charges of assault and reckless endangerment. They also seized the gun.
