Teenager charged with stabbing at Waianea High School in January commits suicide

WAIANAE, Hawaii — State officials say a teenager charged in a high school stabbing in January has been found dead at the Oahu Community Correctional Center.

According to KITV-TV (http://is.gd/Q8nnnI), the state Department of Public Safety says 19-year-old Ikaika Andrade committed suicide on Monday while being held at the Oahu Community Correctional Center. He had pleaded no contest to second-degree assault in the stabbing at Waianae High School in which another 19-year-old was seriously injured.

Andrade was scheduled to be sentenced in May.
