Woman dies in SE Pennsylvania house fire, son treated for injuries; cause sought

CHESTER, Pennsylvania — Authorities say a woman was killed in a two-alarm fire at a southeastern Pennsylvania home.

Officials in Delaware County said the blaze broke out just after 11:30 p.m. Thursday in the home in Chester.

WPVI-TV reports that firefighters pulled a woman from a second-floor bedroom, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials said the victim's son was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
