Babineaux scores 27 points, fuels Jacksonville past Northern Kentucky in overtime, 83-75

JACKSONVILLE, Florida — Kori Babineaux pumped in 27 points and Marcellous Bell scored 6 of his 15 points in the final half minute of extra time as Jacksonville beat Northern Kentucky in overtime, 83-75.

Jalen Billups' layup with 1:49 left to play pulled Northern Kentucky (11-15, 5-6 Atlantic Sun) within 75-72, but Antwon Clayton took a pass from Babineaux and converted the layup to make it 77-72 and Bell sandwiched four free throws around a layup in the final :29 to wrap up the win.

Jacksonville (9-19, 3-8) led by as many as eight down the stretch in regulation, but the Norse battled back and took a 68-66 lead with :22 left. Marcel White converted a pair of free throws with :15 left in regulation to pull Jacksonville back into a tie and force overtime.

Tayler Persons led Northern Kentucky with a career-high 31 points and 12 rebounds.
