NEW IPSWICH, New Hampshire — A group of four Massachusetts hikers has been found after getting lost on a trail and heading into New Hampshire.

The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department says the four women, ages 18 to 24, had started their hike Tuesday from the Mt. Watatic Trailhead on Route 119 in Asburnham, Massachusetts.

They hiked the summit and intended to head back, but unintentionally hiked north into New Hampshire on the Wapack Trail. They got lost and called 911 at about 11 p.m.

A conservation officer and members of the New Ipswich Fire Department found the women shortly before midnight in the Binney Pond Natural Area.
