US Geological Survey records small earthquake near McLoud in central Oklahoma

McLOUD, Oklahoma — The U.S. Geological Survey reports a small earthquake has been recorded near McLoud in central Oklahoma.

The USGS said Thursday that the 2.7 magnitude tremor was centered about one mile southeast of McLoud — about 25 miles east of Oklahoma City.

The Oklahoma County Sheriff's Office says there have been no reports of damage or injury.

Geologists say quakes of magnitude 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest that are felt by humans.
