TUCSON, Arizona — Pima County Sheriff's officials say a suspected bank robber has been arrested after a standoff in Tucson.

They say 32-year-old Paul Alleva was taken into custody Wednesday night.

He was wanted in connection with the July 30 robbery of a U.S. Bank branch in Tucson.

Sheriff's officials say a detective recognized Alleva's vehicle and attempted a high-risk stop on his vehicle outside a convenience store.

The store was evacuated after Alleva refused to exit his vehicle and multiple patrol units were called to the scene.

A SWAT negotiator successfully negotiated Alleva's surrender.
