Marlborough man held on $100,000 bail after denying child rape charges

WOBURN, Massachusetts — A 46-year-old Marlborough man charged with raping a young girl several times over a three-year period has been held on $100,000 bail.

Marco Carrera pleaded not guilty Thursday in Middlesex Superior Court to charges including aggravated rape of a child, rape of a child by force, open and gross lewdness, and child enticement.

Mark Wester, Carrera's attorney, tells The MetroWest Daily News (http://bit.ly/1ssRnPg ) that his client denies all the charges.

The defense attorney says the alleged offenses started when the girl was 10 and the two knew each other.

Carrera was arrested in February after the girl's mother alerted police.

If he makes bail, Carrera is barred from any contact with the girl.
