RAPID CITY, South Dakota — A 33-year-old Rapid City man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for raping a 9-year-old girl at a slumber party.
The Rapid City Journal reports (http://bit.ly/12TgyLa) that Jeremy Bauer was sentenced Friday. A jury found Bauer guilty of first-degree rape in March.
Authorities said Bauer raped the girl at his home in April 2012 when she was attending a sleepover at the home. Authorities say Bauer tried to convince her she was just having a nightmare. His defense unsuccessfully argued during trial that physical evidence of a crime was lacking.
