Jaguars receiver Cecil Shorts III ready for season debut after missing time with injury

JACKSONVILLE, Florida — When reminded that he made it through the week without any setbacks, Jacksonville Jaguars receiver Cecil Shorts III raised both arms over his head in victory.

He said, "I did. Celebrate, celebrate."

Everyone else, including the Jaguars (0-2), might wait to rejoice.

Shorts has missed five consecutive games, including the final three last season, because of injuries.

He's seemingly healthy now after missing the first two games with a strained left hamstring and poised to make his season debut Sunday against Indianapolis (0-2). Coach Gus Bradley says Shorts will start and play extensively.

Shorts adds, "Oh, I'm going. I'm not going to worry. If something happens, it happens. I'm going. I've been out too long. I just want to help this team. I'm going."
