LAFAYETTE, Louisiana — Kasey Shepherd drained six 3-pointers and scored 27 points to lead Louisiana Lafayette to a 92-82 win over South Alabama on Thursday night.

Taking a two-point advantage into the break, Louisiana Lafayette (8-8, 4-3 Sun Belt) broke away early in the second half with a 14-2 run that included four free throws and a 3-pointer from Shepherd to make it 60-46 with 16:50 to play. South Alabama (7-11, 2-5), which led by as many as seven in the first half, closed out the game with a 10-2 burst to trim the final deficit.

Hayward Register contributed 13 points, Bryce Washington added 12 and Shawn Long had 10 for the Ragin' Cajuns, who went 34 of 47 from the foul line. Jay Wright and Johnathan Stove had 10 points apiece.

led the Jaguars with 16 points, added 13, and Nick Stover and Barrington Stevens had 12 each.
