Coroner: Body found in Columbia River is SW Wash. man who fell out of boat last June


LONGVIEW, Washington — The Cowlitz County coroner says a body found floating in the Columbia River at Kalama, Washington, is that of a Battle Ground man who disappeared upstream last summer.

The Daily News of Longview reports ( ) the body was identified Wednesday as 25-year-old Jay Michael Jones. He was last seen June 28 when he reportedly fell out of a boat while fishing.

The coroner says he drowned. Jones was not wearing a life preserver.
