Police: Remains found by turkey hunter may be those of Dyersburg man missing since 2012

DYERSBURG, Tennessee — Dyersburg Police have tentatively identified human remains discovered by a turkey hunter on Tuesday as those of a Dyersburg man missing since 2012.

The State Gazette reports ( ) Curtis Tyler was 27 years old when he was last seen at a Dyersburg trailer park on Saturday, June 30, 2012.

Dyersburg Police Chief Art Heun said items found with the body lead them to believe it is Tyler's. However, they are awaiting the medical examiner's report for positive identification and cause of death.

Family members released a statement to the media saying words can't express the pain they have felt since Tyler went missing. They call Tyler a funny, kind-hearted person who "always kept a smile on his face no matter what was going on."
