University of Wyoming holds grand opening for new $35 million Rochelle Gateway Center

LARAMIE, Wyoming — The University of Wyoming has opened its new $35 million Marian H. Rochelle Gateway Center.

Friday's grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the first opportunity for the public to visit the university's welcoming center.

Funded entirely through private support, the 67,000-square-foot facility is home to the UW Alumni Association, the UW Office of Admissions, UW's Center for Advising and Career Services and the UW Foundation.

It features state-of-the-art technological infrastructure, including video and digital displays and 10 video-conferencing-equipped career recruiting interview rooms.

Gov. Matt Mead, who attended the opening, said the center "reflects our Western heritage and our commitment to progress."
