PHOENIX — Police say two men suspected of hurling large rocks at businesses, breaking into a car and setting another one on fire in northwest Phoenix are in custody.

Sgt. Tommy Thompson says 23-year-old Julio Manuel Garcia and 31-year-old Jeremy Chebalier were booked Saturday on 17 counts of criminal damage.

Each also faces two counts of arson and one count of burglary.

Thompson says the men are accused of throwing rocks through the windows of businesses and vehicles late Friday night.

Officers out in the area of Cactus Park on an unrelated call came into contact with Garcia and Chebalier.

They say the suspects admitted to the rock throwing, stealing tools from a vehicle and causing a blaze in another one.

Police estimate they caused $25,000 in damages.
