Health exchange advisory board gets update as open enrollment period approaches

CONCORD, New Hampshire — A committee that advises New Hampshire insurance officials about President Barack Obama's health care overhaul law is getting an update on where things stand as the next enrollment period approaches.

Enrollment for 2016 plans starts Nov. 1. The Health Exchange Advisory Board, which includes consumers, insurance industry officials, health care advocates and others, is meeting Friday in Concord. Members expect to hear from federal and state officials on how they're preparing for open enrollment and beyond.

New Hampshire opted not to set up its own health insurance marketplace under the law and instead partnered with the federal government. Five companies will be selling health plans for 2016.
