Police: Man found unresponsive, dies after fire at Bronx apartment building


NEW YORK — Authorities say a man has died after a fire at a Bronx apartment building.

Police were called to the borough's Mount Hope section just after 8 p.m. Thursday on reports of a fire.

Police say a man was found unconscious and unresponsive with burns to his body after the fire was put out.

He was taken to Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center where he was pronounced dead.

The city medical examiner's office will determine the cause of death. His identity has not been released.

Authorities are investigating.
