JACKSONVILLE, Florida — A northeast Florida man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for a fatal hit-and-run crash with a bicyclist.

Duval County prosecutors say 34-year-old Santos Herrera-Montiel pleaded no contest this week to leaving the scene of an accident causing death and driving without a driver's license causing death or serious bodily injury.

Authorities say 37-year-old Michael Moon was riding on the outside lane of a Jacksonville street shortly after midnight in November when Herrera-Montiel's SUV hit Moon from behind. The Florida Times-Union (http://goo.gl/pXAv4b ) reports that Herrera-Montiel didn't stop at the scene but later contacted the Florida Highway Patrol and turned himself in.
